Every action that happens on the material world has a corresponding action on an energetic plane.  Our inspiration for this piece has its roots in the belief that layers of existence interact with eachother, and it's only by looking at all the layers combiner that we can understand the true form of our reality. The print inside the eye features a vision of the Empyrean from Gustave Dorè. In medieval times it was considered the place where light originated from, while also being the higher realm that a soul can reach.
